Football

I just joined a soccer league and today we had a tournament. We play 6 on 6 on an outside turf field. Today there were four teams: the Iranians, Vietnamese, Russian, and American/Cambodian/Dutch.

The Squad: Matt, Ryan(Loyola), Julien(Holland), Goalie(Chinese), Mat(Cambodia)
The Vietnamese team was giving our team a hard time because I was the only girl playing...I scored our team's only goal against the best team, the Iranians. Not to toot my own horn or anything.

Where's Kristen??

Oh yeh and we came in last place....

Welcome

Welcome to my "blog." I figured this was the best way to give you a little dose of my everyday life in Bangkok. I will keep it short and sweet and I'll throw some pictures in the mix. Enjoy

First, let me explain my living situation. I am currently living in two different locations: on Assumption's Bang Na campus and its Hua Mak campus (the two are about 45 min apart). The free housing at Bang Na is great but it is also in the middle of nowhere. So, for $150 a month I am renting out a small room at the Hua Mak campus(which is where I lived when I was studying abroad). It's closer to the city and there's a lot more to do. I spend most of my time here and commute to work via free coach bus.

Bang Na is A and Hua Mak is B
Now for some pictures of Bang Na

Cathedral of learning...my office is on the 27th floor

One of my classes...I teach 8 sections including Basic English, English I and English II
Each class has about 20-30 students.

All Thai students have a nickname and most are pretty funny. Some personal favorites are Beer, Party, Win, First, and Meow. Have 250 of these to remember..wish me luck!

And now some pictures of Hua Mak:
